Default windows movie maker crashes when I touch the movie timeline

Hello.
I am having a similar problem. I recently installed windows movie
maker on a computer of mine. At first, I did not have this problem,
but somehow it appeared. I don't know a lot about computers, but I
have had movie maker issues on a different computer, all in which I
was able to fix. However, this problem makes me clueless.

At first, I had a problem that wouldn't allow me to import a video
from my video camera. I found out from a different site that I had to
download what was called "ffdshow decoder" or something like that. It
solved the problem instantly. However, now I have a different problem.
It is pretty much like the problem the person above me has. Windows
movie maker closes down as soon as the video is placed in the
timeline. Help.

I'm uncertain why you *installed* Movie Maker...considering
that it's included in all versions of Windows since Windows ME.

Anyway...you may be importing video files that are not fully
compatible with Movie maker and there's a good chance that
you need to update your video driver.
