It occurs to me, that you don't use an elevated
account some of the time.

HDTune might benefit from being run as administrator.

Your Info tab looks a bit strange, in that it looks
like maybe all the boxes are ticked. And they shouldn't
be. Usually there's a couple that aren't ticked.

Maybe it's due to lack of Administrator or something.
Just a guess.

As for your benchmark curve, something on your machine
might still be using disk while that benchmark is running.
It could be something related to the AV program.

Your Rescue disc is made with "WinPE 3.1".

As long as the CD works to make backups, it should
also work to make restores. You could boot
the CD and test that it can be used to back up
the internal drive, to the external drive. That
should set your mind at ease, that the CD is good.

And yes, eventually the space management should cause
the older backups to be removed, and new ones take
their place. You set that in the space management
policy when setting up the XML file.
