....next:disconnect the DVD writer. (& replace the CPU fan!)

Thanks for your reply! I did disconnect the DVD writer and still got the
clicking and high-pitched sound. I wonder how the CPU fan which does not
move at all could make a clicking sound. I am wondering if the power supply
could possibly be the source of those sounds.
