I am the OP.Â* I use tabs in conjunction with the bookmark toolbar.Â* I
have folders on the bookmark tool bar and open a folder as tabs.Â* This
puts the bookmarks in the folder unter the bookmark toolbar.Â* I can then
work the page in each tab until I am done with it and move on to the
next book mark folder for thos bookmarks.

Having the tab menu at the top of the window, interfers with the logic
of the operations as when you check the toolbars, you want to see the
tabs, not the bookmarks.

In other words the tabs are dependent to the bookmarks not the other way
around.

To resolve the problem I have uninstalled 65 and reverted to Firefox 64.
Â*I have shut off the auto update feature.

I think the logic goes that with the new orientation the tab has the URL
field *within* the tab. Also vertical space is conserved because the
title bar is eliminated. Thought it might be a Windows 10 UI thing but
it now looks the same on Ubuntu. It is a Firefox copying Chrome thing...

yes the tab has the URL in it, BUT the bookmarked URL's are in a folder
in the URL toolbar. With the tabs below the bookkmarks, the tabs are
right above the page, so you have the tabs right above the page for easy
identification. Once you work close all of the tab as you finish with
it you then have the bookmark toolbar right above to access another
folder with URL's
