No. "Vinyl is best" is based on (currently) unmeasurable perceptions.
(Granted, _some_ of them - abstruse harmonic interactions perhaps - may
come to light in time.)

Lossless image compression is, in contrast, a measurable matter: an
image, after compression and then expansion, can be compared to the
original, and it can thus be clearly stated whether there is any loss or
not.
