Default OFF Topic - Walmart order

| Unforetunately there's just too many things where Walmart is easiest. An

I know what you mean. It's not easy to avoid chains.

| What a resent is the fact an item is no longer priced by what it costs

Yes. I think a lot of that is due to computerization.
Prices change based on computer calculations. It's no
longer a business run by an honorable merchant. It's
a computerized gambling operation with the sole purpose
of increasing profits.
I've ended up buying things at Whole Foods based
on sales because the prices vary so much. Last week
organic Kanzi apples from WA were $2/#. This week it's
$3. A 50% increase for the same apples from the
same farms. Next week it will probably be $2 again.
So this week I'm eating Opal apples.

Yesterday I was in Staples.... Hey, 3 boxes of Kleenex
for $5. Pretty good... No, wait. 3 boxes of Puffs for $5.
60 more tissues in 3 boxes. I'll get those.... I then walked
down the aisle and found a separate rack: 4 boxes of
Kleenex for $5. Wowza! Count me in!
I half expected to see 12 boxes for $2.99 if I kept
going. But $1.25/box seemed to be the best deal. So
I moved on to USB sticks. 12 running feet of them on
a rack about 5' high. 3 or 4 brands. Endless variations in
terms of GB and packages. GB/$ was all over the place.
It was madness. I can no longer get RAM or CPUs there,
but there are some 60 sq. ft. of USB sticks. But I didn't
buy one. I couldn't find any deal offering 4 packages
for $5.
