What's going on with those of us with the XP (x64 in my case)? I

Now I have a downloaded manual install flash player. I keep getting
the
message it's old. I can't find the updated on to download for manual

anywhere on adobe's site. Is anyone else having this problem? I guess

IE8?
Do you want the newest Flash or one that just works?
I use version 18.0.0.375 in SM and FF.

How did you pick that version? Or was it just by chance?
I do note that the newer the version, the the larger the file (as a
general
rule), which is par for the course.

I thought that most sites were going away from Flash and over to HTML5?

Cute kitty vids may be moving to html5 but the US Federal, State,
Local gov, and industry sites use flash (including my own employer's
sites).
The fuel for your vehicle and home heating is brought to you using Flash.
V.18 is the last one that works with my SM 26 or FF27 combined with
ZoneAlarm 9.2.102.

I have flash 22(.0.0.209) on my XPSP3 PC. and it functions with an older
browser. It still says it needs updating, but then fails to do so.
(connection Error, possibly due to my firewall timing out the download)
