MS isn't the only one: http://www.opera.com/apps/vpn. Oh, and Windows 10
SUCKS.
MS is talking about putting their browser inside a Virtual Machine, not
about a Virtual Private Network. I realize it's difficult to keep track
of all of the overused term's various meanings, but there is a
difference between a VM and a VPN.
A VM is a low-level machine-level isolation layer, which makes the
application running inside the VM think like it's got the entire machine
to itself. Whereas, a VPN is a higher-level isolation layer for network
connections.
What would be more useful in a browser? I'd say VPN is much more useful,
it hides your identity better. A VM doesn't hide your identity at all,
all it's there to do is make sure if your browser gets infected by
malware, it won't affect the rest of the system.
