Default Lenovo T43 (with XP) Wont Power On

I may have missed that you've already ruled this out, apologies if I
have... I had a Thinkpad that periodically wouldn't boot, I found it was
because there was a problem with the RAM not being seated correctly, I
too the chips out, cleaned the metal contacts making sure they were
shiny, reinserted them (in the opposite sockets) and mechanically
'scrubbed them in' a few times to try to insure metal on metal contacts.
It's worked fine ever since.
