I disagree. It may be bloated, I don't know, but it's my default (for
video; IrfanView for images, WinAmp for audio [though VLC OK there too,
and Irfan can play most audio too]).

I dont know if this works on Windows 7, 8 or 10, since I dont have them.
But it works great on XP and Win98. I have used it for many years...

I have MPC 1.7.10.252, which runs fine on Windows 7-32. I do use it very
occasionally.


They're both good. It's probably best to have both. One advantage of VLC
is it has the codecs built in, IIRC. For MPC, you may need to add something
like the K-Lite Codec Pack to be able to play some videos, like perhaps some
mp4s.
