Chuck, all the mail adresses I used are fake, but ik will read through your
munging link.
I checked all the hints you gave without success. Although now kids is able
to ping main works as well as ping 192.168.0.1 worked. I already switched
off the prefered DNS server (by filling out blanks) so nou there isn't one,
as isn;t on my laptop. i will read thorugh your kb links to see some hints
there.
thanx
Paul

Paul,
OK, I'll bite. What is the preferred DNS server? Or where is it? On
your LAN
(hopefully)? You're connecting Kids to Main by cross-over cable, so how
does
Kids connect to it?
Kids is using "Knooppunttype . . . . . . . . . . : gemengd {mixed}",
which
first broadcasts for resolution, then queries the DNS server.

BTW, Paul, your email address munging may contribute to the spread and
success
of email address mining viruses. The address you used above, and the
address
you previously used (hart2findid AT yahoo DOT com), are both invalid
munges.
Learn to munge your email address properly, to keep yourself a bit safer
when
posting to open forums. Protect yourself and the rest of the internet -

this article.
