Anyone figure out how to change the automatic update settings? The
drop-down is grayed out, and there's a yellow banner at the top of the
Change Settings page stating that "Some settings are managed by your
system administrator." Well, duh, that's me :-(
Maybe this is a built-in setting so the update system will have to run,
for testing purposes? Possibly in the final release, or in a newer build,
this setting will be changeable.
Thanks!

I think the official line is that MS control updates.

Here I have a 32-bit and a separate 64-bit machine running the preview.
The 32-bit is logged on with my Microsoft login and updated to the latest
build, the 64-bit one has a local login and has stayed at the earlier
build.

I wonder if there is a difference depending on the type of login?

That's kinda what I think, too.

I don't think it makes any difference whether or not it's a local login or
not. I had a similar setup as you with two different machines, one local and
the other using my MS logon, and it was locked on both (I am at the latest
build on both machines). I tried activating the built-in Administrator, and
that wouldn't allow me to run hardly anything for some odd reason. I guess
it's all due to it being a preview release. I rather like WinTP right out of
the box (so to speak) much more than I did Win8. I'm curious to see what
other changes will be made as it gets closer to release.
