Been a while since I clicked StartAll ProgramsWindows Update.
Now it takes me to nothing but Windows 7 advertising.

Has Micosoft stopped updating XP?

No, they have not. But they revised the way they do it some time ago. Try
http://www.update.microsoft.com/micr....aspx?ln=en-us

Thanks. But they've done everything possible on that site to discourage
its use.
Windows open just 1/2 inch high, with a tiny scroll bar for selecting
items, a big permanent Privacy Statement. I think I'm beginning to get
their message.

Occam's link works fine in XP pro with IE7 set as default browser. I
just made IE7 the default, clicked Windows Update, and got the
familiar window with Express, Custom etc. etc. Just be sure you're
using Internet Explorer 6 (or better IE7), set IE as default browser
for the duration of the update session, and upgrade the windows
update software if indicated. I get a nag screen with Firefox set as
default.

Interestingly, Windows Automatic Updates works fine when Firefox is
set as default browser.
