It all seems pretty confusing to me. All I
want is a simple DVD player to play my DVD's
but I can't seem to find one. I don't care about
all the other stuff and have no interest in it.

I only mentioned Sony because they use to be
very good and I've had nothing but Sony for
my TV/video.

I don't want Blue-Ray which would make all my
regular DVDs useless because they aren't compatible,
correct?

I do read the reviews but they don't tell me much.
