Good guess, but it wasn't there. I went on the Windows 7 machine and I
found it under "Pen and Input Devices" and under the Touch tab. And it
is a toggle that is called "touch pointer". Then I went to the Windows 8
machine same place and the tab is there, but no touch pointer option.
:-( Here is what it looks like on the screen, except it is transparent
on the screen.
