Disconnect ALL printers from the computer and get rid of the Fax drivers
you installed, then use CleanSpool to get rid of anything left behind.

Update:

I also installed a second LPT Port and it fails to print there too. I
deleted the first LPT Port driver, rebooted and PnP recognized the
printer and installed it again. So I'm pretty sure the HP is
communicating with the PC.

I hooked up an Old Canon BJC 7004 to the PC and installed the drivers and
it won't print to that either.

I always get the same error.

I checked the event logs and I found an error that was repeated 3 times
on the same day...

Event ID 2
ParVdm
Unable to get device object pointer for port object.

Please Help!

Hi.

I have an old HP LaserJet 5 that has served me well for many years. I
made some changes to my computer and now I can't print.

I recently formatted my hard drive and installed a SATA Raid -0-
configuration on my Intel D945GNT Motherboard. I installed some other
printer drivers from OMNIRUSH Fax server and then I plugged in my HP
LaserJet 5 and it recognized the printer and it installed the drivers
automatically for me.

However now, when I print a test page, it tells me that it cannot print
because the wrong drivers are installed. It tells me this immediately
after I hit the OK button to print.

I went into the bios to check if it is set correctly and it is. I tried
to install LASER JET 4 drivers and I get the same error message. I tried
to install Epson laser drivers and I get the same error.

Of course I deleted the HP 5 driver and I tried to reinstall it and I
followed the troubleshooting tips in help, but I still can't get it to
print.

Any ideas on what to do now?
