They all do the same as Ms-Office and the are free.


None of them have Outlook so not the same.

True if you are strictly comparing the office suites. But you can add
an email client to your computer, and be functionally the same.
Interoperability may suffer a bit, depending on how you use your
computer.



I've tried them all and none are like Outlook. T-Bird is often suggested
by these suites and it's tried hard to be like Outlook but Outlook beats
T-Bird hands down when it comes to HTML email. When I compose an email
with Outlook, the fonts, colors, etc. are replicated exactly the way I
want them to look in Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and GMail as well as T-Bird. If
you use T-Bird, the emails change fonts when they arrived at their
destination, usually reverting to Times New Roman and a smaller font.
This is the only reason I need it over T-Bird. I don't do exchange.


I have not had that problem with TB/Lightning. What it I send the other
person receives, unless they have the parameters on their computer set
wrong. I routinely send and received event invitations using Lightning.
Some of the people in our family are using Company provided
Office/Outlook some are using other Suites.

I find Lightning will completely integrate with Corel, and other
programs I use.

PS: Corel Wordperfect for three user can frequently be found for about
$60 Less when rebated.

Not sure what Lightning has to do with HTML formatted email. Please explain.

Lightning is the calendar component for Thunderbird.

AFAIK, I've not had the HTML issues you've experienced with TB, but the
editor is sure buggy. :-( When I have time, I'm going to look at the
current version of Zimbra Desktop. No real idea of what I'll find.
