Default Do you want to leave this web site?

Why?

Why ask do we want to leave when we closed the browser for a reason.

What is the reason for asking if we want to leave when we always want to
leave anyways? We never say no. So why ask?

The longer the browser stays open to the site,
the more "advertising views" get counted.

If you open to a web page, and only view it for two seconds,
the site receives *no* compensation. It doesn't count as a view.

The advertising they show, only counts if the browser
window stays open for a fixed period of time.

By hooking the "dismiss" methods of the web page,
and putting up bogus prompts or delaying your
departure, that ensures your visit earns them
their $0.01 (penny).

If you "click thru" an advertising picture, then
champagne corks fly and the staff on the web site
throw a party. As now they've earned $0.02. Don't
click the adverts, unless you want them getting
drunk.
