He won't tell you. If you ask for details on more than one extremely

Not a troll.

[snip]

You still haven't told us what you've being asked, which was not about
the nics and the OSs, but about how they're connected to the internet.
Therefore, still a troll.

I really thought I had said that I was connected via the stated
hardware via CAT5 to a Verizon router.

Since you now say "Verizon router" (no, you never before mentioned to
WHAT your PC was connected), is that actually a separate router or
combination router+modem unit? Since you say "Verizon", it is probably
a combo unit. You have also not responded to the inquiry of whether you
have DSL or cable hookup to your ISP. PPOE should only be used if you
are using DSL. Are you?

What is the brand and model of the "router"? It might have a "Verizon"
sticker on it but the label on the box might say different.

PPOE is something configured in your router to interface with a DSL
modem. You don't use PPOE in your PC when connecting it to a router.
You would use PPOE for the PC's connectoid *if* the PC were directly
connected to a DSL modem.

And, as previously mentioned, have you deleted the connectoid you have
defined in Windows (Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center) and
created a new connectoid (that does NOT use PPOE)?

Oops, I've asked about more than one thing:
- Are you using DSL or cable for access to your ISP (Internet)?
- The brand and model of "router"?
- Delete existing connectoid in Windows and create a new non-PPOE one.

If you don't want to tell us, call Verizon (or whomever is your ISP) and
ask them about proper configuration in Windows for it to interface with
whatever "router" you are using that has their brand on it.
