But I am surprised I am having all this trouble

Probably because you never answer the questions for more details. Brand
and model number of router. No response from you.

Router very non-descript Verizon QC WIFI
No brandname nor model #

Separate router or
combo router+modem unit. No response.

Router currently cat5-connected to this W10 PC plus a second W7/W10 PC
plus wireless-connected to a laptop and tablet. All work with router
just fine.

What type of connectoid is
defined in Windows 7. No response.

Not sure what a connectoid is - even after looking term up. Subject
W7 PC 'has no internet connection'. Device Manager shows one network
adapter -
Broadcom 440X10/100 integrated controller which is on the mobo.
I added a PCI Netgear interface card to try a second internect
connection - as of now it is not recognized even tho I installed
driver I have (which could be wrong I guess) - FA310 FA310TX v4.02.
The card is id'ed - Netgear FA310TX REV-D2 LC82C160C 0002A
H3634-000.

Since you don't want to give the details, I'm done with your
deliberately vague responses. Go talk to Verizon. They probably won't
be able to do anthing, either, with the dearth of details that you
provide and unwillingness to respond.

ok

Bye bye. Enjoy working out this problem on that vague setup.
