Default Do Windows Updates Affect Hibernating Settings

TheScullster wrote:

Hi all

I have one user in a Windows Server 2003 domain whose system sleep settings
keep changing.
All users are running XP Pro SP2 and there are about 15 other identical
boxes setup as this one.
Usually happens at about 6 month intervals. PC suddenly starts going into
"sleep mode" after 10 minutes or so of inactivity.

Anyone come across this or have an idea for a fix?

TIA

Phil

Phil,

I've seen a similar Sleep issue that was caused by a corrupted driver
for the video display adapter.
Another source would be the NIC settings or it's driver.
Then only way updating would cause this would be if drivers were
automatically installed via Automatic Updates. Never a wise move for XP.
