"Cannot connect to the service" is likely a wholly different issue than
"cannot connect to server". That would also explain why gadgets still work
for some of us and not for others. The server(s) are obviously still
operational, but on specific PCs, the *service* is apparently not running.

The other guy came back and said that iWeather was a typo and that there's
no such thing. He may have meant to say iMap. The name of the Gadget is
Weather, the version is 1.1.0.0, and most of the config is in:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Cache
C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Services\Cache
