Ignore the first response from the guy who says MS disabled all gadgets. He
obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, but at least 25 people
indicate that they got their gadgets working again by following the steps in
the second reply, the one from "sting251" who starts off with, "I do not
typically post on any type of forums".

Since my gadgets are still working fine, I'll assume it's good enough to
simply make a copy of the files he mentions and store them for the day when
the gadgets quit working.


Yes, I just used that method to repair one computer's 'broken' gadget
using a copy of a working gadget from another computer.

The Config.xml files were identical between the two computers.
The Settings.ini were different, but I think the differences were due
to the order of gadgets on the screen.

The non-working computer didn't have a directory under the Windows
Sidebar\Cache directory. I don't know if my prior attempts to fix the
issue had caused it to be deleted or if that was the cause of the
problem.
