Another reason to avoid using third-party anti-viruses altogether and
rely on Windows Defender


WD used to have a poor detection rate compared to most third-party
antivirus programs. Unless that's changed recently, it's a very basic
protection.

(as well as Malwarebytes' free scanner if
ever there is a doubt).


I use MB myself, as a malware scanner, but if ever there is a doubt I
would ask for second and third opinions: www.virustotal.com makes a good
starting point.
