OK then why is Messenger part of XP and if you want to remove it you have to
run the reg file that is not support by MS. if you don't run the file
Outlook Express will crash or take forever to load waiting for Windows
Messenger 4.7
By the way Office 11 (Office 2003) dose not have newsgroups as part of the
program. So why don't MS do a update to remove Windows Messenger out of the
OS altogether. So if you want to install MSN Messenger you don't have two
Messenger running. I know I can go to Add and Remove programs and remove it.
but if you do not run the reg file Outlook Express will install it again.
Will Windows Messenger 5 have the same trouble as Windows Messenger 4.x has
with Outlook Express

Hi,
Outlook (with corporate support) and Outlook Express (with more end user
support) -- similar
applications, different uses.
A good comparison I think to Windows Messenger 5 and MSN Messenger 5.

Hi William,
That information is incorrect -- although it may have a focus on the
corporate world and
corporate servers (Exchange IM, Greenwich), this does *not* make it
"corporate only".
Compare it to Microsoft Outlook, which although having a focus for
corporate solutions
(Exchange, other 3rd party servers, like Lotus Notes) it still be can
be
used by a personal
user (Outlook supports POP3, and even Hotmail e-mail).
Don't believe everything you read.

From what I see and read the version 5 of Windows Messenger will
only be
for
Corporation. Not for Personnel used.

Hi,
Keep in mind, Hotmail is under MSN, aka MSN Messenger. Windows
Messenger
5 is not designed
to be a clone of MSN Messenger 5 (or any other version for that
matter).

The Ink stuff looks pretty good, a nice new addition. But I
hope
that
it'll
still replicate MSN Messenger 5 features e.g. alerts for
Hotmail,
etc.

Hi.
Just thought you'd like to take a look at the screenshots
for
Windows
Messenger 5 (at last!). Of course, this will be the PROPER
upgrade
from
4.7
for Windows XP users.
