Default CPU AUDIO

How did you know the sound is an indication that the CPU is active?

Thanks for the suggestion I had a look at the BIOS setup but it's a page I've
never seen before; I highlighted f5 (default settings) in the hope that would
solve the problem, unfortunately I'm still 'clicking'. I was unwilling to go
elsewhere as I would be wondering blind and might do damage.

It is undoubtedly a setting in your BIOS setup. Ususally you would get some
text message on the screen during a cold start, like 'press del key to enter
setup'

At some stage on my travels through my computer I have ticked a box that
enables audio from the CPU; I now get a clicking noise that tells me the
processor is active, it is extremely annoying and I would like to make it
silent again can anybody help?
