Using "How to add the Print Directory feature for folders in
Windows XP" Article ID 321379, when editing the registry,
instructions tell me to locate Default value under the following
key. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
I assume this is the word "Default" which appears on the right when
you click on the word "shell" on the left.
The instruction go on to say click "Modify" under the "Edit" menu,
then enter the word "none" (no brackets) in the "File data" box.
However, the box that appears is called "Value data" box. Are they
the same?

Thanks in advance for taking a look at this.

First - I am assuming you have some reason to do that section?
"... After you follow the steps in the previous sections, Search Companion
may start when you double-click a folder instead of the folder being
opened. Or, if you have associated other actions with file folders, those
actions may be performed instead ..."

In other words - if that describes your situation, you utilize that
section. If that doesn't describe you - you don't need to do that section.

Yes, that describes me- Search Companion opens.

See the attached picture... (yeah - a small binary - I cannot believe I
am doing it either..)

That is the part I am referring to. However, to the right of the "DEFAULT"
shown in your binary, mine has the following: REG_SZ
