Default Blue screen error

I've been getting an occasional blue screen error for a while. I turn off my
computer holding down the off button for several seconds, then turn it back
on. Sometimes when I turn it back on, I get a blue screen again. I repeat the
off/on thing, and it always works on the second time and everything seems
peachy.

The past couple days, the screensaver/monitor doesn't "wake up" when I move
my mouse so I have to turn off, turn on, rinse and repeat.

My event viewer thing gives the following explanation of the errors that
occurred throughout the past couple days:

1. ---------

Do one or all of the following:

Review the error information displayed in the message.
Verify that the service password has not expired.
Verify that the service is in the correct location.

To display the WIN32_EXIT_CODE error that SCM encountered when trying to
start the program, at the command prompt, type

There was another one with a msg about a "serious error" related to a psched
something or other too.

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 about four years old, running XP V5.1 SP2.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
