Every time I reboot, my quick launch icons are gone. I have to =

Prior to this problem I had what looked like a "hijacked" task bar =
with shortcuts I did not put there. I tried to restore my system back to =
an earlier date (XP) but even though there were dates to pick from, a =
message came up saying it was not able to do the restore.

I downloaded and ran Ad-aware and that eliminated the "extra" items on =
the task bar. However the Quick Launch icons were gone too. I was able =
to right-click and reselect Show Quick Launch but after every restart =
they are gone.
