Default Old Software Resets Video Settings

Hi all, and thanks in advance for any insights...

I had been running Picture It!, the old Works 2002 photo managing
program, on a Dell Dimension system since 12/02...when that system
died, I installed it on a new Dell Vostro 220S system...but kept
getting a run time error.

Well, someone familiar with this issue kindly pointed out that this
was due to the large amount of RAM on the new system (3 mb) vs
old...so, I installed the patch, still available, and the program now
runs.

Only problem is that when it loads, it resets my video settings from
1024 X 768 32 bit color to 800 X 600 8 bit, which renders everything
pretty grainy.

I can use the program, but if nothing else, wondered if someone could
explain why this occurs. If there is a fix, it would be great, but I
am mainly pleased to just be able to use it.

Again, thanks in advance if anyone is familiar such such things.

Me again...more thoughts...

Just wondering.....

What version of Internet Explorer are you running?

Have you tried running PI2002 in compatibility mode?

Maybe the following articles will offer something useful:
