Default How do I setup workgroup access with SP2?

Hi,
Not very clear about how you are trying to access a shared folder on your
machine.
1) u do not need to have the same username password for all machines (to
access shared folder in a workgrp, a guest account is good enough).
2) Other than giving the workgrp name to the new machine, you need to make
sure that the IP address and Subnet mask assigned to the machine is correct.
If the IP address is not in the right range or the Subnet Mask is incorrect -
the machine will not be able to access any other computer in its workgroup.
3) to access a shared folder on your machine \\machinename\shared
Shared - is the name you assigned to the shared folder for access on the
network.
Dxp1 is the name of your SP2 machine?
4) Make sure that File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is
installed.

I would assume, if its a fresh install. It could be an issue with the IP or
Services not installed.

How do I setup a new machine that came with Windows XP Professional
SP2 installed so that it has access to the existing workgroup?

I made it be in the proper workgroup, made the administrator
password the same as on the Windows XP Professional SP1 systems,
and am using the same username and password on all of the
machines.

I disabled the firewall.

The SP2 machine can't even reach the directories that
it is sharing. For example, D: is shared as DXP1D,
but both \\Dxp1 and \\DXP1 get no access permitted
errors.
