I'm using Vista but it seems a lot like 7.

Is there a way to turn off the process that generates the message,
"checking online for a solution"?

It's never yet found a solution, so this is just another waste of my
time.

How can I turn it off? Thanks.

In addition to what Paul said, how about tracking down the source of the
issue that causes the message and fix that, instead of clobbering the
message and leaving the issue in place?

You may have tried that already, but I thought I'd ask.

Two programs in particular. I sort of know what the problems are. And
Windows says it's checking online but never finds anything.

If it found things I'd be happy to have it.

Paul, I never had a puppy.

Thanks, both of you.
