Default Can a Macintosh person tell us how to change the name of a file?

it shows up as pdf because you changed it to pdf.

The web forum only accepts the following 6 filename extensions
https://www.turboimagehost.com/p/36851451/upload.gif.html

gif 500KB 1200x1200
jpe 500KB 1024x768
jpeg 500KB 1200x1200
jpg 500KB 1200x1200
png 500KB 1200x1200
pdf 12MB

It's pretty common in web forums to do that extension addition trick.
If you see file.ext.pdf you know to just remove the PDF extension.

The main problem is that videos are large so on Windows it was easy to just
shrink the ~50MB video to about ~5MB just by exporting it to 640x480.

Then I renamed the file to add the ".pdf" and said so in the web forum.
PDF is chosen only because it allows a file size greater than half a MB.

Thanks to the Macintosh file renaming instructions, I think the Macintosh
users on the web forum are ok now (as the first poster to complain was the
guy named Fudman who is very knowledgeable in bimmer engines so for him to
complain means that it's not obvious to all Macintosh users - but when I
sent him the instructions he was finally able to watch the video on his
Macintosh).
