Hi, Winston.

But I don't have an Xbox - and don't really want one. Just to play
Solitaire? I do have a Microsoft Account.

Win8 SAYS that Solitaire is free and that I've already installed - but
I can't find it in my Win8 RTM Ent Eval edition.

Oh, well. Just 22 more days...

If you don't mind using a hex editor ( or use the patcher mentioned here)
you can run the Win7 games in Win8

I've just tried converting Win7 Chess and Win7 Solitaire and can confirm
they run ok in Win8.

It's hard to imagine Windows without Solitaire. I mean, what else is it
good for?

Indeed, and now you've got no excuse for not getting to grips with Win8.
There's no Aero and you can even have your beloved Classic start menu!
:-)
