Recently installed XP Pro over ME...ME was causing too many problems. Since installation of XP, Norton Systemworks doesn't work. I've tried using Rnav2003.exe, but that didn't do the job. I'm in the process of removing it manually which involves changi

You will probably have to. Norton is troublesome at best - old versions
that do not work with the new system are especially so.

Also, with XP Pro you can't get to the Diagnostic Startup screen like you can with XP Home by clicking on Start, then Run, then typing in MSCONFIG. Is there any way to get there with XP Pro?

You ought to be able to. It ought explicitly to be the file

C:\Windows\PCHealth\Helpctr\Binaries\msconfig.exe

so look for that. If it is present and runs on a double click, then
probably an entry in the registry for its path has been damaged. While
you are about fixing the other matter, check with regedit.exe at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\
App Paths\MSCONFIG.EXE

(and make that 'Key' with Edit - New - Key from the App Paths level if
it is not there).

When you highlight that MSCONFIG.EXE key, then in the right pane
(Default) should be set to the path and file name as given above - if
not, double click the Default and enter that - adjusting the name of
the Windows folder if by any chance your windows is in a folder with a
different name
