Default Printer Install on Windows XPproSP2

Heybub... :-) Thanks for the response...

I think it's a registry issue because I've spent HOURS reading for
solutions online, have installed Epson printer drivers in the past
very successfully on several computers, have tried MANY install and
uninstall approaches (including the associated reboots), and know for
a fact that the printer and connection are okay.

As with many other uninstallers, I think I have some remnant residing
in my registry that won't allow completion of the 'install'
successfully and though I'm not 'convinced' it's a registry issue, I'm
pretty close to feeling that way because of the result.

Perhaps using these "optimizers", especially if you do so as
"preventive" maintenance, has removed necessary entries. Using these
tools as preventive maintenance prevents nothing and can cause more harm
than good.

Make sure that the print spooler is running then remove the drivers for
the printer:

Open the Printers and Faxes folder and delete the printer. Then click
File - Server Properties and select the Drivers tab and remove the
drivers for the printer.

You can also use the Resource Kit's Cleanspl.exe Spooler Cleaner utility
to clean the print spooler.
