What else have you downloaded recently? I find that many freeware
programs come with two options ticked on the download form; one is
Chrome, the other Google as search engine.
You have to UNtick them in order NOT to get them.
It's a pain; and look how it drives me into using unorthodox English
just to cover the situation.

I haven't downloaded anything. This computer is used daily, but it
runs Linux Mint 99% of the time. I just keep Window 8.1 up to date.
