Default Can't rid system of bad password for log on ??

Another diagnostic I thought of: enable logging. In the Phone and Modem
applet in Control Panel, under the Modems tab panel, select your modem
and click Properties. Under the Diagnostics tab panel, enable "Append
to log". You can click the View Log button to see if there is any old
stuff in an existing logfile (just erase it all and close/save the
logfile). Then attempt the connection which results in an error. Maybe
something will pop up in the logfile to tell you what is going wrong.
