Default Windows 7 External USB Drives

In article ,
says...

Tring to hook up seveal 5T USB drives.

I can get 3 to show with volume name and a drive letter gets assigned.

The fourth is a problem !

I went into Disk Management and saw the drive there with its volume
name and it is assigned a drive letter BUT ! The Windows Explorer(WE)
window show that drive letter belonging to a NAS that is unplugged.
It has the NAS name and drive letter the NAS wasnot the USB drive info.

Clicking on the drive in WE I see the Fourth USB drive and contents but
still not the correct volume name.

What is going on?

I need to connect several addition 5T Drives.

Sounds like it's "stacking" the drive letters, e.g. one drive gets "H"
and then a secod is also assigned "H". Try putting them online one at a
time and manually assign a drive letter to each as they appear might do
it.

I find Win7 remembers the drive letters assigned but I have one external
enclosure I have to cycle power eveytimne pc boots for it to be seen, no
idea why but it slows down boot significantly if I leave it powered up
during boot cycle.
