Default clean install question

I want to do a clean install. I'm giving my pc to another family member, so
I want to wipe the drive clean and set it up for him. Does this make sense:

I want to run KillDisk and truly wipe the drive. I have XP Pro. So, am I
correct that after running Killdisk from the floppy, I can reboot using the
XP Pro CD (as long as bios is set to boot from CD), and then my XP CD will
allow me to format, partition, and then clean install XP? I don't need to
do fdisk to format the drive because XP (unlike previous versions) walks you
through that?

I then want to bring everything up to basic operating level, partition the
clean install and set up 2 other partitions (Partition Magic 8.0), then
image the clean install using Symantec Ghost to my backup drive. That way,
if his system craps out in the future, I'll have a backup image that I can
just transfer from my backup drive to his (what was my) hard drive.

Am I missing something in my game plan here?

Thanks!
