I just got this optional update pushed from MS and wonder if anybody
here has installed it on a PC with AMD CPU and how it worked out.
Supposedly it fixes the problem caused earlier by KB4056894.

As recently discussed in another thread in this newsgroup, that is a
"preview" release, which I never touch. I characterize previews as
being released so that Microsoft can see the users' experience with
them, effectively making the users part of the test team. Having
retired after 30+ years as a tester of software used to operate space
satellites for the military, I prefer not to be an unpaid tester for
Microsoft. Updates for these two will be rereleased later, not as
"preview" updates and possibly revised.

Thanks. Now I wish I knew how to hide it like I was able to hide
undesirable patches in Win XP.

Select the update. Right-click. Select "Hide update" in the context
menu.
