Is your optical cd drive RW?
R/Click the cd drive icon in "My Computer" then "Properties" then
"Recording" tab and tick "Enable cd recording on this drive"

I am trying to copy some files to a CD, and the error message comes up
that I need to insert a new CD (which I had done) and it will not copy.
I have spent hours trying to find directons on how to do this. When I
play an audio CD, it will work. My only other thought is perhaps a new
CD can be "old"? I'm really a novice on repairing the PC. Also, I have
defragged, done 5 different scans, deleted cookies and files and that
didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions? Smiley Gilrl
