legitimate Linux distros via torrent, right ?

Torrenting is used to reduce the cost of distributing
Linux to end users.

There is no "automatic guarantee" that a torrent user
is a street criminal... Much as you'd like to think so.

Did you know you could "steal movies" via USENET ?
Of course you did. A binary server, a block account,
a source of headers, automatic download tools, and so on.
For example, one person admitted to automatically downloading
around 1TB of stuff that way... in a single month. Basically,
his broadband connection pulled posts at max_rate for the
entire month, and those were all movies. You don't have to
torrent them. He probably doesn't even know what movies
he got.
