How do I get Audacity to record what Windows browser is playing ?
Not using a mic !

I bought a program called Total Recorder that will save anything going
through your sound card. It was pretty cheap.

Hmm, I'm not sure "cheap" would best describe the product since the SE
(Standard Edition) seems a little overly crippled compared to the PE
(Pro Edition) and VE (VideoPro Edition).

http://www.totalrecorder.com/features.htm

SE: $18
PE: $36
VE: $54

From the comparison chart above, the SE "cheap" edition is missing:

"Analog recording via sound card with an ability to listen to audio
being captured"

I'm guessing that means you don't need to use any of the backpanel ports
on either the integrated or standalone audio hardware. Also missing in
SE is:

"Direct capturing (background recording) of an Internet audio stream"
"Direct capturing (background recording) of an Internet video stream"

Seemed the OP wants that. He didn't want to use a microphone to
rerecord the audio out, so he wouldn't was just a screen recorder,
either, but wants the grab the audio/video streams from a site. I use
Jaksta Media Recorder, but I'm not sure I'd call it cheap ($30) unless
by comparison you've been looking at much more pricey solutions.
