Default Aida32 program question

Oh I know Val. I guess we live and learn, don't we? I knew from owning
previous PC's that I was missing that CD right away. I should have pushed it
and made sure I had a backup back then. Oh, it's been a rough 2 months, but
I have heard from a lot of great people on these newsgroups that have helped
me tremendously and I learned a good bit too. So it all worked out in the
end. As for this particular PC vendor I will never deal with them again. The
support was very poor from the very first.

Donna,
Many think it's pretty much a rip off that PC vendors don't give you a
proper Windows CD with new sytstems instead of their "restore" disk set.
Those will generally reinstall everything originally on the PC, even if

you
went to great lengths to remove all the useless dreck. Any company that
expects you to totally rely on the restore data hidden on the hard drive

is
doubly cheating you.

What happens if the disk crashes, or you want to replace it? Outta luck.
And, the restore data is taking up part of the disk space you paid for (it
was on the advertising and specs) but don't have the real use of.

Val,
thanks, my PC didn't come with a CD and I had to purchase one. What a
shame. I had asked HP about a CD within one week and getting my PC but he
reassured me that I wouldn't need one and I could do a full recovery from
the partition that was on my hard drive. Well that didn't work either.
Thanks,
Donna J.

The license is for the computer, not the individual drives. Slap as

many
HDs in there as you want - only one license is needed. You don't need

to
get another copy of Windoze for that machine.

Hi Peter,
Just want to make sure when I set up my other harddrive that I can use

my
licensed version with no trouble. I don't have them both hooked up and

it
is
showing the information for my old harddrive.
Sorry didn't mean to confuse anyone. Just wondering if this information
(licensed instead of OEM version) is stored in the registry somewhere.
Thanks,
Donna J.
