than Windows 7, and whether I desire those features at all.

I have yet to hear a single advantage for me to upgrade to Windows 8 or

Aye, and that is why I am hoping that someone who has "upgraded" from
Windows 7 to Windows 10 will tell is what advantages there are, if
any.

And also what disadvantages they have found, if any.

Both of those things have been discussed here for months.

Not in those specific clear terms - not in the 7 'group, anyway. I agree
with Steve - a SIMPLE list of the advantages of 10, for the ordinary
user, would be more than welcome. The main ones I've seen seem to be:

o it's new/current, and thus will have better support going forward. I
can't argue with that: I don't _like_ it, but most of that if I'm honest
is just the usual reluctance to change.

o it's better security-wise. (I'm not talking about the alleged spying
etc. that is on by default; I mean against real malware.) I'm willing to
accept that, for the average user, that might actually be true.

o on _some_ hardware, it works more efficiently. (Equally on some, it
works less well, or in a not insignificant percentage, it doesn't work
at all.)

I think these - the first two, at least - probably are genuine
advantages. But they don't really "set the world on fire". I think Steve
and I would like to see, for example, a list of obvious new _features_
that using 10 would open up for us. (And, indeed, what disadvantages,
perhaps _other_ than all the spying and so on. But those are less
important, to me anyway.)

Carrot and stick: "why should I switch to 10"; "because it's
safer/newer/will be supported for longer" type answers are a stick - I
haven't seen any carrots, at least not any that make _me_ want to
switch. (Actually, I haven't seen any at all, but then I haven't been
looking very hard.)
