Let me add that even though I have security set to ALLOW Active-X downloads
(in Tools/Options/Security) the security bar still opens and says "click
here for more information." However when it's clicked on NOTHING HAPPENS!
PLEASE = how can I either get rid of or disable this security bar short of
uninstalling SP2 again?

=============
My PC with SP2 refuses to allow the HP site to download and install an
active-ex script to check and see if I need updated software. HOW THE
$&*&^%$ bloody hell do I shut that damn thing off? I need this done. Do I
have to uninstall SP2 yet again to allow the HP site to install the script?
How do I get rid of these Sp2 pain in the ass security problems?
My PC is a HP w/W-XP Home/SP2 .
I'm the Owner Administrator of the PC and the only user.
TIA

I didn't receive an error. A window along the top of I.E. came up and
said to CLICK there if I wanted to install the Active-X from HP.
Clicking *there* did not work. The website you sent me to doesn't
address that issue. I want to get rid of this non-functioning
problematic SP2 warning window - please tell me how.

In Internet Explorer, select Tools/Internet Options/Security tab/Custom
Level button. All of the ActiveX handling options are at the beginning of
that list.
## I've already set them to ALLOW this Active-X download but SP2 security
still stops it from downloading. I also added HP as a SAFE SITE and that
didn't allow the download either.
You can also add the web address of that HP website to the Truted Sites
list. In Internet Options/Security, select the Trusted sites icon/Sites
button. Add the web address and click the Add button.
## Yep, I did that already (see above). What else can I try to disable
SP2s security from stopping this HP Active-X download?
