No. I don't have Google Desktop on this PC.

The graphic card is Intel 82945G Express Chipset. Maybe that has
something to do with it? It has different resolutions, but it always
go back to 1024 x 768 instead of 800 x 600 or any other numbers.

Maybe it would be worth a try to update
your video driver or the following .reg file
may be useful:
