Default Messenger not working anymore.

Hello again,

Well today I got this same problem back again, and it won't start working
even I do steps I did before. I wonder if Microsoft made "fix" for that so it
won't work anymore.

Any ideas how to get this working now?

Sweet, thanks! Solution 1 worked for me very well.

Greetings,

I've addressed this problem on my blog:

Basically you either have to engage compatibility mode for your current version or force
the
latest version to install using the manual installers.

Not a solution but I ran into the same problem with 2003 Server.

Currently I use version that works with XP 64. If newer version does not
support 64 bit XP, I have to call it off?

I use Version 2008 (Build 8.5.1288.816)
