Yeah, maybe it is. Have you already tried what happens when you do *not*
remove that line ? If not, why ?

ALso, do you have to reboot to take effect?

Same answer. Why didn't you just test ? Change it and check if the
program responds differently, than reboot and check again.

But the answer is : It depends on the kind of data and the program/software
the data is for.
